Loss of a friend - to the big meeting in the sky
AA Community: John S @ Tuesday 22 July 2008 - 22:52:34
A good friend that was very active at the Prime Time Saturday night Speaker Meeting has passed on. She chaired that meeting regularly, she will be missed by many.
Please join us in saying goodbye to our friend in a time of fellowship and sharing on August 1st, 2008 from 7:00p-9:00p at the Thalia United Methodist Church. Bring a dish if you can to share.
Some of the home group members are having a yard sale at her former home. Contact the central office for more information.

New Recovery Meetings
Meeting News: John S @ Tuesday 01 July 2008 - 09:02:44
A group of friends in recovery from Alcoholism have come together and formed a 501c3 (not for profit corporation) for the purpose of opening and operating a "Club House" at the Virginia Beach Ocean Front.
The Virginia Beach Recovery Club has leased a facility on 17th Strett just off the ocean front. The structure is the same as many club houses that exist around the country that focus on recovery, much the same as the "Easy Does It Service Center" in Norfolk. The club is funded outside of AA, lest problems of money, property and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.
Today (July 1, 2008) is the first day of their lease on the facility. There is much to do in preparing the facility for meetings. Look for additional information here as things evolve.
